Friends of the Library WishList Adds to Library Collection

Friends of the Library’s Community WishList program kicks off Sunday, Oct. 21, 2pm, with a special event in the Ann Stevens Room, Loussac Library, Level 3. Enjoy refreshments, entertainment and help build the library collection. Buy books and media items at subsidized rates and be first to check them out. Or make a $5 donation and a title suggestion to be entered in a prize drawing. The WishList sale continues through Oct. 31, at the Friends of the Library Gift Shop next to the circulation desk on Level 2 at the Loussac Library.

Fall busy time for Friends of the Library

Don’t miss the flurry of public events Friends of the Library is hosting this fall.  Alaska author Jane G. Haigh is the featured speaker at the Friends annual meeting Wednesday, Oct. 10, 6-8pm, in the Ann Stevens Room, Loussac, level 3.  An historian from Fairbanks, Haigh wrote Gold Rush Women, Gold Rush Dogs, and Kin Con: The Story of Soapy Smith.  At 7pm, Haigh will discuss her latest book, Searching for Fannie Quigley, following the short FOL business meeting which includes awards for supportive sponsors and volunteers with 250 hours.
